CBC Results
Hi!
Nick's CBC came back perfect, he is right where he should be. Curently, he is considered to be in a hematological remission. He goes in on Wed. for a bone marrow aspiration to find out how many "luekemia" cells are in the bone marrow. We are praying that they find very little, if any. The pills he takes on a daily basis is our miracle drug! It has saved many lives since being approved for pediatric use in 2006. Just a few years back Nick's prognosis would have been grim, but thanks to to Gleevec, many children and adults live a happy, normal life even though they have CML. I am so thankful that this is available and that he is responding so well to it! Our miracle drug does not come without it's side effects though, so you have to take the good with the bad. Lately, the side effects have gotten worse and we are not sure why. Nick is dealing with low energy, joint pain, headache, stomach pain and thinning hair. I have talked to other CML parents and it seems as though the side effects come and go with this medication. We are just so thankful that it is doing it's job...the side effects we can live with!
We are still waiting on match results from Cinci, hopefully we hear something soon. The match process, I was told, could take up to 4 month so it could be awhile.
Please pray that Nick does well with the bone marrow aspiration on Wed. and that they find very little luekemia left in his bone marrow. I do beleive that the power of prayer has already produced miracles in Nick's life...we just need a couple more!
Keep Praying!
