BMA Results

Hi,
I apologize for not posting sooner! Anyhow, we received the results of Nick's bone marrow aspirate that he had done last week. The results were not as good as we had hoped, but does show a decrease. Nick's bone marrow sample showed that 21% of his cells contain the Philadelphia chromosone (this is the chromosone that causes CML) and 8% of his cells still contain luekemia (Bcr-Abl protein, previously he was at 12%). I am just learning the meaning of all of this but basically it means that we did not reach a complete cytogenetic response as we had hoped. We are heading in the right direction, just a little slower than expected. Hopefully, next time we will acheive it...
Thank you everyone who attended the benefit dinner! It is amazing what a wonderful support system you all have been!! It meant so much to Dan and I to see all of you there!
A special thank you to all of the students at Walsh, who did such an awesome job putting it all together!
