Day +32
Nick continue to do well. He is getting stronger by the day. He is now eating twice per day. If he can keep eating the way he has, he will be able to be off the IV fluids.
While Nick continues to well, some of our other family's continue to struggle. Most of you read that Blake went to ICU yesterday. He is doing better, but still needs our prayers. Kelly, Troy's mom is having a hard time dealing with the Kidney issues Troy continues to have. After the whole BMT, Troy's kidney's are shutting down.
And finally, Dylan, a 3 year old from WV, went home to be with the Lord this week. One of our BMT warriors lost his struggle. He has spent most of his life in the hospital. This week, on Monday, his Grandma decided she was taking him home. They left Cincinnati Childrens and flew home. Dylan was so excited, he said "look Grandma, I made it home." Dylan past away Monday night.
Dylan's struggle is just a constant reminder of how real this process really is. It doesn't mean that every kid will have these struggles. When Sandy says "God is good", what we are really saying is "Thank you Lord for allowing our child to be one of the lucky one's". I thank God every night for the blessings he has given Nick and the rest of our family. I pray for the Lord's continued blessings as we move forward, and continue to cross these bridges.
I look forward to another great day tomorrow. I'll check in with you all tomorrow night.
