Day +142

Nick visited his doctor this week here in Akron. All the tests came back great. His levels looked good. Nick's skin has been looking a little dark lately. 9 of his finger nails have fallen off in the last few weeks as well. We weren't sure what was going on but was assured from his doctor that this is normal post BMT.

We asked again about Nick returning to school at the end of August. Our Doctor here in Akron seemed very hesitant and stated she thinks it will be too soon. This was not the news Nick was hoping to hear. The doctor dd say she will check with his doctor in Cincinnati since she has much more experience with BMT's and also knows Nick much better. So there is still hope.

The doctor did say that around day 180, Nick will be able to go out to restaurants, to the mall, and most other things. He is very excited about being free to go out again.

Things are still going very well. It's amazing to watch Nick crush every challenge that is put in front of him. Our faith reminds us that Nick has not been alone with these challenges. God has been with him all the way. We continue to pray for these miracles and feel blessed to be a witness.

Dear Dan, Sandy, NIck, and Family; Continuing to follow Nick's progress, and am so excited to hear of the good report with respect to the blood work. I know that things are really getting frustrating for NIck, and that he is hoping to return to school in the fall with the rest of his classmates, but there is always hope that this will happen. Also, we must continue to look to the "bigger picture", which is that of his health, and of his complete healing. I know that it is really hard to focus on those things when the entire summer has been pretty isolated, but we are SO very blessed to have such good news with respect to his recovery. Just being able to go out again to a mall or a restaurant will undoubtedly be a real pick-me-up for him. Please know that those of us on your prayer team are continuing to lift you up to the Lord, and are SO very greatful for His continued blessings! Dear Nick; Today, I find myself thinking of you an awful lot. I am imagining what I might feel like if someone had confined me to one place for an entire six month period. And I use that time table because I know I would find it extremely difficult!
